1.1.2 Asset Health Assurance Electrical

MAINTENANCE AND RELIABILITY

DESCRIPTION:

The course provides skills that will allow attendees to understand the application and integration of basic Predictive Maintenance technologies as they relate to electrical applications.

RECOMMENDED AUDIENCE:

This course is recommended for managers, engineers, planners, and supervisors who are responsible for the daily use of information that comes from a condition monitoring program.

YOU WILL LEARN:

  • Identify electrical failure modes in AC and DC motors, transformers, and switchgear
  • Identify the construction methods and normal operation of electric motors
  • Determine the electrical failure modes that vibration analysis can detect in AC and DC motors
  • Determine the electrical failure modes that airborne and structure-borne ultrasound can detect in motors, transformers, and switchgear
  • Determine the electrical failure modes that lubricant analysis can detect in transformers
  • Determine the electrical failure modes that infrared thermography can detect in motors, transformers, and switchgear
  • Determine the electrical failure modes that on-line and off-line motor circuit analysis can detect in motors and transformers
  • Identify the common traps of each technology
  • Build an electrical asset health matrix
